We came up with this rough design plan with some help by our teacher.

The default locking mechanism in the pedestal was rather simple yet efficient. A thin metal bar on the inside of pedestal locks all the drawers when it is pulled up by the mechanism behind the keylock. With this, we could simply just replace the keylock with a servo to control the locks.
In the the design plan, we thought of ideas and solutions to where and how we could position the keypad password lock and the servo for the whole thing to work properly in the pedestal.
Now with most of the planning done, we are moving on to the next phase in this project.. making the servo-lock mechanism.
